My name is Armaou Maria. This post is a call-for participants for my
dissertation
project on the relationship between the strengths of character and
subjective well being of secondary school teachers at the University
of Nottingham.

I'd appreciate if you could circulate this information to your
colleagues that may be interested in participating!! This post is an
URGENT call for participants as I've been contacting secondary schools
during the last month but the response rate is still low!

Till the 15 of August, there will be an on-line survey, in which
secondary school teachers who volunteer to participate need to
complete: a) the VIA Signature Strengths Survey and two brief
questionnaires regarding their subjective well-being and job
characteristics. This will take approximately 35 minutes.

Participants, also. will be able to get immediate feedback on their
top 5 Strengths.
Participation is entirely voluntary and all responses will be
confidential and be used for research purposes only.

In short, the purpose of this research is to explore the
occupational pattern of character strengths, how they are related to
life satisfaction, and how parameters of teachers' job affect this
relationship.

Some Instructions:
For the first part, participants need to FULLY complete a free
registration page, creating a username and a personal password and
entering in the LAST tab of this registration page the research code:
MAR002. As username they should use an e-mail address.
At the end of this page you can find the "privacy policy" of the VIA
institute.

99.999% of secondary school teachers can't play one. Do wake up Chris!

I wonder if the poor response from Secondary School Teachers in the last month has anything to do with the fact they are all on holiday.
It would be better if she attended a course at the University on plain English.
This is a spy,trying to find out about our use of bellows and concertina secrets ,someone send her a recording of " Horses Brawl " or Blayden Races that should do it. Or we could send one of our representatives to discuss her mistake of posting on this site. A few names come to mind.

When you put it like that, the correlation between the two is astonishing!

In fact a bit of Googling reveals that Maria Armaou has sent similar messages to numerous eductional websites in the course of the past month, seemingly with little success, but why she's posted here is beyond me...

It appears that her favorite music is Greek, Hip Hop, Rock and Pop and that she is a MSc Student in Occupational Psychology..........and her Favorite Books are about character Strengths and Virtues.

So, I can see precisely why she has posted here.

I do believe that an Occupational Psychologist would find it interesting to pursue the opinions of this List. After all, what we all have in common here is our concertina playing. But does that in fact influence our choice of careers? Who could know without performing a study? I have often been told, [shortly after pridefully performing a newly learned tune], by some of my would be friends, that now I can go down to the plaza and put out my hat. What is so interesting to me is that they think they are the first to think of it. Why, I have been smirkingly told on many occasions (by my would be friends) that I should attend to earning a living with this fine art of concertina playing. But, I tell them that I am not any time soon giving up my day job. I'm no dummy......

And, I believe that we excel in Strengths and Virtues. Even possibly virtuousness.

I think that she is trying to extend her musical appreciation. Imagine: Greek, Hip Hop, Rock and Pop and Concertina music. Truly an extraordinary breadth of the musical spectrum.

So she would not be interested in Books about Character Weaknesses and Sinfulness? Too bad, it'll go just fine with her favorite music (Oh, by the way, I didn't know Hip Hop is music. I guess in this case my favorite music is Appalachian Clogging)

So that would mean, let's see, 1 in 100,000 secondary school teachers do play one. Oh dear! It looks as if I'm going to have to ask some of my friends who are concertina-playing secondary school teachers to give up in order not to exceed the percentage. Anyone know how I can go about breaking the news to Wrigglefingers?
