I really enjoyed hearing the Pauline clip. Amazing balance between the Klavinova and Pauline's Wheatstone. It would be wonderful to hear it with a proper piano though.

That English session was delightful. Does anyone know who the melodion and concertina players are? The tuba was the icing on the cake! I would love to sit, listen and enjoy several pints in such a lovely atmosphere.

Hi Mark,

Martin Nail (Jeffries Anglo) runs the session, which has had various homes in the Southwark area of South London over the years. I think that 1995 was the last time I attended, and now consider 8 miles "too far" to go in order to play music. I recall meeting a young melodeon player, called Andy Cutting, at some of these sessions in 1987/8 .... whatever happened to him?

Doug Adams is on the melodeon, with Sarah Crofts on a Lachenal (from memory) Anglo.

Regards,
Peter.

Thank you Peter. Eight miles too many? Bum a ride from a neighbor and stand him to a few pints...that's too good to miss!

A good song for you: "Eight more mile to Louisville."

Just looking back at that clip: the tuba player gets a bit out in the weeds, stops looks around and comes back in, wrighted and firmly in the middle of the road. Why is he in another room?
