one of the tracks he plays on flute, dont wake me Iam sleeping, has abit of a story attached to it,we used to have a very nosey next door neighbour Mrs LEMAY,who was always complaining, that Paul playing his trombone used to stop her from sleeping,so at every opportunity, Paul would play it beneath her bedroom window.Dick Miles

Track #8 is Hava Nagila
"Hava Nagila" (הבה נגילה in Hebrew) is a Hebrew folk song, the title meaning "Let us rejoice". It is a song of celebration, especially popular amongst Jewish and Roma communities. (from Wikipedia)

apologies yvonne, however it shows how close musically arabs and israelis are.
they are using similar modes, they often[in my experience] look very similar as well.
what a tragedy they are hell bent on killing one another

Jews and Arabs are not in hell bent on killing one another, let's not disseminate that. Good 1/4th of Israelis are Arabs, doing reasonably well, working together and visiting each other on birthdays.
Mobs act differently from individuals, and political throwbacks are at their best in arab societies. Fear and terror, what can you do? An Iranian at work begged me not to believe officialdom from Iran, and I know this fo r myself, been from USSR. Whoever believed one word from Hezbollah or Arafat - is an idiot. Regardless of everything else.
And yes, Arabic music is one of my favorite, extremely rich and involving. I think English Concertina is particularly good for it, been kind of nasal, muted and having extraordinary melody possibilities.
