I am playing anglo. I was asked to bring concertina to company party (beano ?) and play some tunes there.
One of my superior recently had his first grandson so I would like to celebrate by music if I can.

Are there any tunes about grandchild or dedicated to composer's grandchild ??
I once heard a story that someone played 'Haste to the wedding' on the wedding party, 'Farewell to music' on the funeral, or something.
If there is a custom to celebrate newborn baby with a certain tune, I also would like to know.

I always enjoy Irish tunes, but any information will be appreciated .

Here's another one that comes to mind, it's a sweet little jig, I've only heard it played
by Patrick Street, and there is no repeat between the A and B parts (so it is played ABAB

"Evit Gabriel" was written by Daniel Thonon on the occasion of the birth of his son, Gabriel. Fred Hellerman (formerly of The Weavers) wrote the song, "Tomorrow Lies in the Cradle" for his newborn son. Nice tune. Should work even without the words.

I am at Pinewoods this week (Early Music Week) and there is someone here who tells me she had waltzes commissioned for the births of several of her grandchildren. I'll post again if I ever get alook at them.

If you don't mind getting away from omnipresent Jigs and reels,

All songs probably will sound well on Concertina, and are very happy, children-like in nature, with catchy melodies. Not sure what you meant by "songs, dedicated to grandchild", whether you want any song or specifically "for" the children, but take a look at this bunch, you may like some.
