Interesting series on instrument construction

Four of the series are carried on this channel for those that missed them on TV, or can't get the original programming.

Bouzuki, Mouth Organ, Guitar, and Whistle:

I had a phone call from N. Ireland tonight (thanks John!) saying "why didn't you tell us you were on television tonight?", to which my answer was "I'd no idea!" (And I can't get BBC here... ) rolleyes.gif

So I guess it was probably in this? That's showbiz! cool.gif

Here is the listing for it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/tv/programmes/ceird/

If you click the play again button, it should work. Unfortunately blocked for us on this side of the pond. I guess we'll have to wait for an alternative place to view it. From Spain maybe. blink.gif

Thanks

Hi Leo and all,

In Belgium I get this message on my PC 'Sorry, this programme is only available to play in the UK'. That's a pity! So Try the UK instead of Spain, Leo. Or keep an eye on UTube.

Thanks for running this site Leo

happy squeezing

It's the same here in southern Ireland too.

Mind you, if it's the same one, the programme has been aired a good few times in the years since it was filmed anyway. People seem to tell me they've seen me on TV about every 6 months or so, but (mercifully) I haven't seen it/me myself. rolleyes.gif

I'd die of embarassment!

To anyone that feels adventurous. Try to find what is known as a Proxy Server. It makes the site see you mac address as resident in the country of the server.

Or wait for the programme to come up again on TG4, as it regularly does...

Tried a couple of them. Apparently the BBC likes a verified address and refuses to do business anonymously. rolleyes.gif

Indeed, he's a spanish guy. And i would say looking at his videos in youtube that he is a native of Asturias, a celtic area of Spain in the northern atlantic coast. I've already downloaded all his videos.

Cheers

Everyone looks very tall and thin in these unsure.gif presumable a wide screen recording - squaashed square
Anyone know if this is something I can configure at this end to make hexagons more errr... hexagonal, and people a bit less Lowry like?

I'm afraid not while it's being watch on YouTubes default player. In the address of the clip it has on the right these letters: &fmt=18. This forces the player into high resolution, and mp4 format with stereo audio if available. It come with a screen resolution in this clip as 450x360. (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC standard). If you drop the &fmt=18 switch to low resolution (for faster load time), it will play with a resolution of 300x240. The proportions are the same.

Maybe it's YouTubes version of a weight loss program. blink.gif

Now if you downloaded it and saved it to your computer, then there are lots of ways to massage it to suit your tastes.

Thanks
Leo
