Rhomylly
Hi all --

I'm arranging for delivery of an interim upgrade between my Hohner and the very, very nice concertina I'm saving up for by getting one of Bob Tedrow's 2-year-old turbo Stagi's, 30 key.

This is a biiig jump from 20 key to 30 key for me. I've ordered the Levy book/CD's, but in the meantime, does anyone have a quick reference to a Stagi fingering chart I could print out? Has this been discussed before?

I would also like to say, as reference, that the last time I adopted a *dog* (a year ago) I didn't have to do this much prep... smile.gif

Thanks!

Rhomylly,

On the website of Jürgen Suttner you will find fingering charts of a G/C concertina:

Wheatstone layout (PDF file)

Jeffries layout (PDF file)

So make your choice a have a lot of fun with your new concertina!

As far as I know the Jeffries lay-out is much more popular than the Wheatstone. So I guess your Stagi has the Jeffries lay-out.

As your Bob Tedrow is involved in your Stagi, he could tell you exactly about the lay-out.

good thinking, Henk! I shall do that immediately.

Well I have one of the turbo stagis.... and it has a Wheastone layout. Not sure if that is normal or if it just represents some of them. I am getting use to it pretty fast.

I don't have a turbo, but my regular Stagi is Wheatstone fingering.
I would think the turbo would be the same.

Just speculating here.

I'm not sure, but I would suspect that you could and can order either the Wheatstone or Jeffries layout as a standard option... and even minor custom variations without significant additional cost.

Maybe one of the dealers could tell us for sure?
Rhomylly
Well, I emailed the source of the turbo Stagi in question (Bob Tedrow) and have been assured that it does, in fact, have the Wheatstone fingering. Since I dream of owning a Wheatstone someday, this is serendipity!

Thanks again, Henk, for the good idea!

You should check out Mark Staytons very helpful fingering chart, right here on Concertina.net

Even if your layout is a little different, you can make the small corrections. I found the charts very helpful!
Rhomylly
oooo I will print that out and take it home for pre-concertina-arrival study!

Thanks Pam!
