Any recommendations as to where I can obtain a quality 38 button concertina (either C/G or G/D) in the price range of $2000 to $3500, but without a hugh waiting period?

Your help is appreciated.

I am not sure if that is going to be a reasonable set of requirements. Considering how much the 36 button Lachenal is listed for at the button box ($3750) I would guess that that would be a minimum for a 38 button instrument in decent condition. The unfortunate thing is that non of the mid priced instruments make instruments with more than 36 buttons, and even then there is only norman makes a 36 button instrument.

Of the makers I do know, Bob Tedrow seems to be the one who specializes most in custom orders, so you might give him a call and see if he might be able to help you out.
