I have an opportunity to buy either a rehabilitated 30 Button Bastari Anglo or a new 20 button Hohner Anglo. I'm just a beginner...Opinions are greatly appreciated!!!

My recommendation is to go for the one with thirty buttons.

Much as I love my 20-button Hohner, it is a wonderful beginner's instrument, buying the 30-button Bastari means you won't have to upgrade quite so quickly.

I have a nice German made Hohner that I bought at least 10 years ago, but have only started playing seriously during the last few weeks. I'm an experienced musician with stringed instruments, and am already looking to upgrade to a more chromatically friendly box.

Although a novice, I recommend the 30 button.
