Hello everyone, I just thought that I would mention that Sotherbys London have 4 nice concertina,s for sale in there Early music auction November 10th 2004. You can get the details from their website, Please be aware that if you bid the buyers commission is, I believe, about 20% maybe 25% plus VAT. Thanks Peter.

That's this auction, lots 203-206.

I have no idea why, but all the single-instrument listings I lookd at said "Quantity: 2". unsure.gif

Lot 203, a 72-button (71+air) duet is described as "baritone". Given the 9½" size marked in the ledger, I doubt very much that it's an octave lower than normal. That would have it going half an octave lower than my 81-button (80+air) Maccann, which is 11" across. Also, the ledger doesn't note anything unusual. I expect it's just a standard "72".

Jim they did this at the last auction ,you will probably find that the 2 is the box that it comes in.This was there wording before.

Rats! I was hoping they were cloning concertinas, like they're doing with kittens, now. wink.gif
