Covent Garden....to see the street performers....I recommended taking the lift NOT the stairs or you may collapse from exhaustion halfway to the top. 193 steps! :(
(I made the mistake of taking the stairs on saturday.....had to rest twice before I reached the top)

Staying with gardens, but moving towards the garden suburb, I play
Hampstead

PS Albert Ketelby, he of the Monastery Garden and Persian Market, wrote a tune called 'Appy 'Ampstead.

You cannot take a lift when playing Mornington Cresent as the elevator fund is still at at zero. Been like that for years and years. All lifts are up for repair.

And of course the Standard Rules cater for this very situation, as you would expect. It enables me to make a left collateral to

Neasden

(Knees being somewhat on my mind at present).

Following recent internet problems, I was surprised to find my Inbox swamped with a total of one stray E-Mail
Here it is:

Dear Mr. Wheatstone,
Can you tell me if the 1702 from Edinburgh Waverley crosses your famous Fourth Bridge?
What happened to the first three?
I do hope the Tay Bridge of 1879 (which will be remembered for a very long time) was not one of your early attempts.
Of course, coming from Gloucester, you would be more interested in bridging the Severn.
I must close now, as I don't want to become a Severn bore.

Ah Mrs Trellis !

Would that be the Mrs Trellis who was the wife of Thomas Trellis, composer of the fabulous 40-voice motet "Spam in Aluminium"?

Hmmm. Well, I've checked the rulebook, and it is fairly unprecedented, but it would appear that ladydetemps has achieved a superluminal traverse from Neasden to Mornington Crescent by way of Khartoum and Albuquerque. I think that is pretty well unheard of at this level of play, and pretty unusual even at the levels at which Peter Trimming moves.

So it only remains to congratulate our worthy winner and declare play closed until thia time next year, when I shall call on LDT to declare any special rules and start play.

Thanks all for an intriguing contest.

Ah.... that's what come of listening to I'm sorry I haven't a clue since I got my first radio, then listening to older episodes on BBC7 recently and having read the little book of mornington crescent.

So it only remains to congratulate our worthy winner and declare play closed until thia time next year, when I shall call on LDT to declare any special rules and start play.

Thank you. *bows to rapturous applause*

You will have to remind me when it comes to that time again. ;)
