As a fan of ABC I just note down the tune name and the first half a dozen notes...

So I wondered, how many tunes are there where the ABC of the first several notes is the name?

None that I know of, so I wrote one -- titled "Cabbage" -- and I put it in the Tune-O-Tron. It seems like there's a real opportunity here to create a whole new genre of tunes. :o

The wildest 4-note match I know od is between Stephen Foster's "old Black Joe" and Ipolitov-Ivanov's "Procession of the Tsardir"

So what's next? "Aged cabbage"? :D

Perhaps a little derivative. I decided to keep it pentatonic, since the title is.

Jim's and David's tunes make a nice set, but can't decide whether I want to play a Cabbage Baggage or a Baggage Cabbage.

Take it down an octave if it suits your instrument better.

OK, I've been motivated to write one whose entire lyrics are in abc free verse, although the title, Bad Trip, is not.

I'm not posting this to the Tune-O-Tron, as it is completely devoid of musical value, unlike prior postings.

I'm really very sorry about this.
