Howdy:
I was just searching through the Irish music programming archives of WFUV-FM in New York City to discover a listing for a recent show entitled "The little squeezebox, the concertina, is in the spotlight today. Tunes from Noel Hill, Mary McNamara, Niall Vallely and many others.
October 2, 2004" which somehow I missed.

I've been a somewhat regular listner of the Irish music programming on WFUV over the past couple of years and though I do not tune in every week, I somehow managed to miss this program.

Luckily I remebered that the station does archive their programs and was able to listen to it on Windows Media Player.

For those who are interested this program. it can be accessed by clicking on or pasting into your browser.....

Then on the blue menu on th left hand side of the screen choose

"Celtic Sounds"

Click on one of the links for

"The WFUV Archives"

Pull down the menu at the top of the next page to
Saturday
"A Thousand Welcomes"

Press the go button

Click on the link for

and hopefully the complete program will be available with Windows Media Player.

This did not work that well for me at first so I dragged the date link to my desktop and then opened Windows Media Player and then opened the file from the application.

Be warned that this is a 2 or 3 Hour show (I think. I actually will listen to it tomorrow) but should well worth the investment in time.
"A Thousand Welcomes" is a wonderful show and very popular here in the greater NYC area.

Hi Henk and Y'all:

Glad to hear the link works.
While you're on the site you might want to listen to some of the other shows.
Always a good mix and some great live interviews.
Kind of like attending "The University of Celtic Music" .
WFUV's celtic music programming is excellent and now the whole world can listen in.
I keep forgetting that when I wake up late on Saturday mornings and realize I'm missing a show that I can "tune in" later on on the web.

Kind of an amazing kinda thing!
