Thanks, Jim and Tootler.   I've got the song much more in my head now, too, so maybe 'take 2' will be better.  

 

I do play a lot more by sightreading now, more than I used to, because I worked on that -- but no matter how much I do that, I've got to have a good play-by-ear memory of the tune in my head before it starts to sound like anything.

Too bad I didn't see this earlier, my husband plays this a lot on the melodeon, and I've almost learned it on the concertina.

I have a Lachenal English (refurbished by Greg J.).  I almost always record (any play even) to a click, so it'd be hard to loose the tempo.

Yes, very nice.

I noticed in most of the Finnish accordion versions I viewed, they didn't repeat the C the last time through but went back to the A and finished there.

I did the same in my version
