Good day all - I am visiting the UK in December and was wondering if there are any concertina related things going on during my trip?  I will be staying near Sidmouth and would love to get together with like minded folk for a little music.

Next West Country Concertina Players meeting is 4th Jan - will you have gone home by then?  It's in Somerset- not too far from where you'll be.

You would be welcome to be guest player with East Devon Folk Orchestra who meet on Monday evenings at Broadclyst, Nr Exeter. As I live in Sidmouth, I could even offer transport to the meeting. I play Melodeon in the orchestra but we have several concertina players. playing is both by ear and sight reading music.

A treat you might like to attend will be a performance by West Country Concertina Band in Sidholme Hotel, Sidmouth on evening of Monday 22nd Dec (in aid of Organ Restoration Fund). Sidholme Hotel is a converted Regency house with a wonderful Chapel now used as a Music Room. Perhaps contact me by PM if you want more details etc.

Good day Marcus,

I hope you have a great UK visit. Planning to go spear fishing in the channel?

If you go for that sort of thing, the Topsham Folk Club meets most Sunday evenings. That's very close to Sidmouth. http://www.topshamfolkclub.co.uk/

If you do go, say hello to my friend John Stephens.

Great idea. Now that you have a G/D that will open up some new avenues for exploration. Let's talk.
