Jim Besser
With my Dipper baryton duet and an other way to play the left hand. Chords from the score in D... http://snd.sc/14EY19Q What a glorious sounding instrument. And nice arrangement.

tona
Thanks! I explore the "tune of the month" forum and its lovely tunes. Next : the abbess. Very beautiful melody! Edited September 15, 2013 by tona
Diatosoldo
"It's got a range of only an octave (A to A in D as written), so most instruments should be able to play it in more than one key." Yes, it's true, and OK for me : I've checked ... now, I've to try and learn ! I'm learning the tune, but find it difficult to play it with a"bouncy swing" hahaaaaa ... so maybe I'll possibly record a video before the end of september, but it wil not have a "full flavor" ! bellowbelle
I'm hoping to get to this tune, but I don't know when that will be. A lot of things are demanding my attention, and I am working on several projects all at once. So, maybe.... in December? Hmm...
Susanne
It's a very nice tune indeed, and I really wanted to join this month. But then I got sick and haven't been able to do much. Don't think I'll be able to learn it in just a few days, but you never know.. Very nice recordings so far from the rest of you though. Very few entries this month, and such a fun tune. Maybe folks are inhibited because the composer is among us.
Robert Fisher
Thank you Jody and everyone who's posted a recording. I especially like Tona's first go round. I've really enjoyed playing this piece and am quite surprised that there are so few recordings so far. At the moment most of my music time is spent trying to keep up with my son's violin playing (we've been learning together for a couple of years and just now his playing has really taken off) but when I've had a little concertina time I've been compulsively playing this and also Music for a Found Harmonium (which is great on concertina... so give it a go!) My rather rough recording is a .wav file at: http://ubuntuone.com/4S4QBUmKLnWpQ58oZXiVwC Two times through, second time with accompanying chords mixed in. ... I've just realised how big the .wav file is so I've uploaded an mp3 version as well: http://ubuntuone.com/1kC3lxME7NDvOXIGMNx98v (Ubuntu one is not really designed for streaming, so you'll probably get better results by right clicking the link and choosing to save the file before playing it). Diatosoldo
At last (I had to record separately the 2 parts ..) : Part one : http://youtu.be/GKnhLgiJTfM Part 2 (a bit slower because a bit mor difficult for me !) : http://youtu.be/oakynSNJA0A I'm exhausted ... though not satisfied at all (should have put some rythmics and chords on the left hand ... but for the moment I'm only trying to gain fluency with the position of the notes on the keyboard)

Wolf Molkentin
I hadn't found the time to go for Hop & Skip until yesterday, so this is rather a rehearsal recording, but it's made in England (and still in September)! To be improved (in October); it's really fun to play...! Edited September 30, 2013 by blue eyed sailor

It is wonderful! I am trying also the tune with the maccann, as in the anglo I feel that I don't have a lot to add to the tune, and with the maccann at least it adds a different flavour. I was trying also the same approach than your accompaniment note by note, no chording, and some harmonies are similar to yours. I was practicing it for playing the first and second part joined without mistakes as i don't know how to cut and paste, but it is very difficult for me by now. Perhaps I do the same than you. record it part by part. It is nice to see also what are doing your fingers in the video.
