I found out from some colleagures at Rolls Royce in Derby that the Golden Jubilee Holiday is Monday. Congratulations to HRH Queen Elizabeth and all of you on that side of the pond. Wish I was there to celebrate with you!

Actually, it's Diamond Jubilee, her dad having died in 1952. Personally I've hardly noticed being 1) a republican, and 2) totally caught up in the staging of the opera my partner Anne has written

Cheers for that. I'm not a royalist either, but I am very glad that we have been given an extra day holiday from work. Personally, I plan to spend the extra day out on my motorbike, enjoying what will hopefully be empty roads whilst others are having garden parties.

Wombie, my current motorbike is a MotoGuzzi though I've had and lusted after many others, including Royal Enfield and aome very curious cyclemotors such as Rudge and Raleigh.

Of course, Dirge has a Morgan 3-Wheeler .... which we all MUST pay homage to.
