Hi All,
I am fairly new to this forum, I have been reading it for a few months now, but this is my first posting.
I have a rather nice G/D Lachenal which is great.
I want to buy a C/G model,
I can get a Stagi or a Rochelle
Which should I choose ?
I have played a Stagi and it is ok, but It would mean ordering the Rochelle on the net without trying it first
All advice greatfully received
Regards
Karl
PS, Was out this morning dancing the sun up on May Day at 5:23am,
tradition states that if the Morris Dancers don't dance on May Day Morning as the sun rises,
the cattle will be barren and the crops won't grow !!
Which make of Anglo to choose ?

Though there are historical precedents for dancing on May Day, and for individual teams dancing at dawn, the first recorded incident of morris dancing at dawn on May Day is from 1923. It was in that year that the Oxford Morris Men decided to join the May Day Dawn festivities at Magdalen College.
PS I was also up at 5:23 dancing this morning.

If you're looking at new instruments the Rochelle is a much better value for the price, and the production quality is much more reliable than a Stagi. However, some people prefer the Stagi for its smaller size or its less plastic-y look. In the US, used Stagis are often available at Rochelle-like prices - don't know if that's true in the UK though.I have a rather nice G/D Lachenal which is great.
