Hi
Does anybody know some good sea shanties album (some anglo concertina playing would be nice, but not necessary)?
For starters you might consider these CDs although they may be hard to find. Try Amazon or other internet sources.
Blow Boys Blow (Tradition 1024) featuring Ewan MacColl and A.L. Lloyd with the great Alf Edwards on EC.
Sea Chanteys - Lou Killen (ESP 1085-2)
Classic A.L. Lloyd (Fellside FECD98) Not all shanties but again featuring Alf Edwards on some tracks

Pyrates Royale is a pretty good group, and Ships' Company's CD Donkey Riding is good. I found one called A Night Out on the Shore by the HMS Falcon Press Gang one time that's really good too.

I've always been partial to our local Washington DC group, The Boarding Party - sadly, defunct for many years, but their CDs are still available, as this:

By the way, I have numerous excellent CD's that have been published by Saydisc.
You might to search for other titles. I know there are at least a few concertina CD's that they've released.
Here they are.......

. . . that one I consider canonical. I like its version of Bully In the Ally with references to blockade running. You might take a peek at John Townley's Sailor!
Also, there is Strike the Bell by Tom & Chris Kastle and a few others by them. There is concertina on many of their albums.
Two of my favorites by by Tom Lewis are:
360° All Points of the Compass Borealis Records BCD156 (2003)
Poles Apart Self-Propelled Music ASM105D (2001)
This one mentioned before is available for download from eMusic:
Blow Boys Blow (Tradition 1024) featuring Ewan MacColl and A.L. Lloyd with the great Alf Edwards on EC.
But this is one I recommend the most:
Blow The Man Down - Various artists
Label: Topic / IODA
Includes Louis Killen, Ewan MacColl, Cyril Tawney, The Watersons, Ian Campbell, A. L. Lloyd, and More!
I downloaded that one a few years ago from eMusic, and I still consider it to be essential.
Also, on Youtube, there is a guy who performs all of the songs from Shanties of the Seven Seas by Stan Hugill. He does not perform any on any stage. It's like a bunch are by the refrigerator, one is while driving a truck, one looks like it is in a garage. I seem to recall a long version of Heiland Laddy sung with friends from his Punjabi Music studies. He even includes the page numbers from S7S!
Here is a link to his playlists: http://www.youtube.c...t/videos?view=1
