FOLKS: one of the nice things about the new site is that one can dig out all kinds of interesting statistics. . . . . .one thing seems certain: there seems to be a definite correlation between the length of the posting and the number of people who read and respond to it. . . . . . the morale: keep things short, as i will in the future.............allan

Hmm. Responding I can understand, but *reading*? How can a person tell how long a post is before looking at it? Am I missing something?there seems to be a definite correlation between the length of the posting and the number of people who read and respond to it
For that matter, with this forum's format of showing multiple posts together on the same screen, how can the system tell *which* posts I've read and which I haven't?
Allan, where did you find these statistics? Generally, I find the statistical emphasis here to be an annoyance, but I must admit to being curious about how such information can be established.

JIM: i simply meant that one can see how many people read the thing. . . . .that was about it. . . . . .as for knowing how long something is: i guess one just runs out of gas after a while.....................though those who do so would still be counted among the readers....................allan
