Tim is a fine singer & duet concertina player. He has 35 years' professional experience of playing concertina in venues ranging from mission churches in Colombia to Dorset village halls; from ceilidhs in barns to the National Theatre. His most recent recording 'Sea Strands' features traditional songs from Dorset & dance tunes from the Benjamin Rose manuscript.

 

The workshop is for all systems of concertina & will cover techniques for playing, performance & extending repertoire; we'll also learn some cracking tunes from the manuscripts of Benjamin Rose of Belchalwel & Daniel Rolls of Weymouth, Dorset. Music will be sent out in advance.

Tim has sent me the music for the workshop, and it's gone out by post to the first batch of participants today. We still have places for the workshop and tickets for Tim's performance at the Lewes Saturday Folk Club in the evening. Admission if £6, no membership is needed, and everyone is welcome especially if you'd like to sing or play.
