marshall
Harry Scurfield asked if I could give the event below a mention here. Chas Otley Courthouse In association with Swaledale Squeeze & Leeds Irish Arts Foundation Sunday 15th May Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh From Co. Meath, Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh is widely regarded as one of the finest concertina players of his generation. He has recorded two critically acclaimed solo albums and various other CDs including albums with the band ‘Providence’ and with the ‘Tain Ceili Band’. He has twice been a member of ‘three-in-a-row’ winning ceili bands and is highly sought after both nationally and internationally as a tutor and performer. His latest collaboration is an album with Catherine McEvoy and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh on flute and fiddle respectively. Some of the best Irish trad music just bursts out of Mícheál O’ Raghallaigh. He has outstanding, controlled technique on the concertina and he plays with a punch and drive that few can achieve, combined with an expressive and original sensitivity that brings out the depth of feeling that this music is really about. 01943 467466 admin@otleycourthouse.org.uk Time: 7:30pm Tickets: £10 / £8 in advance, £11 / £9 on the door
