Jeffries Or Lachenal ?

It's not a surprising price for a metal ended Lachenal. Although I would want to play it and look inside for that sort of money.

I doubt that the buyer thought they were getting a real Jeffries though.

I asked a question of the seller, I asked what the measurement was across the flats of the ends, and they replied six and a quarter inches, which I think rules out Jeffries and confirms it as a Lachenal.

The metal ends are the real mystery. They are definitely Jeffries pattern, but should be six inches, not six and a quarter.

I looks like someone had them specially made, which is odd, considering that no effort was made other than the ends to disguise it's true maker.

Just measured my 26+1 Jeffries Anglo d/g and its six and two sixteenths....it's a combination of weird parts to be sure.....hope it plays better than my lachenal which I am not impressed with at all.......I know the seller was sent a message referring to this topic and I was told that they did not get any reply.....worrying to say the least.....anyway not my problem...have a nice day Patrick!
