  1. Michael, I have set you a PM. Pat
  2. I have upgraded from my beginner concertina to an Edgley and I'd like to offer my old one for sale. It is an Anglo 30 Key C/G "Boorinwood" bought in June 2006 from John O'Neill on Tyrone. Wheatstone layout. I had the straps replaced with better ones. It plays as good as the day I bought it and all the keys are in tune. I found it useful as beginner instrument as it gave me the chance to learn without spending a lot of money. It includes a hard case which needs a little fixing. I am in Dublin, Ireland. Here is the Boorinwood website. sample1.wav sample2.wav Concertina.net will benefit in the usual way assuming I find a buyer here. Pat.
  3. Frank, You came across quite strong and offensive in your reply. As a person with your vast experience you have the chance to assist Joachim to arrive a the right price but you ought to do it in a more convivial manner. Pat.
  4. Kathleen I'm only slightly ahead of you but I have the advantage of living in Dublin, Ireland near a school of Irish music. You ought to decide what type of music you want to play and then find the teacher/book appropriate. Ther is slAssuming it is Irish trad then you will find a few schools of music. The best known as far as I can see is Noel Hill who travels around a bit (http://www.noelhill.com/nhics.html) and is giving classes in NY in August.
  5. I'm considering buying a new concertina, having played an inexpensive beginner model for a couple of years. After a lot of internet searching the Bob Tedrow ones looks attractive but I'd like to hear one live before investing. Do you know the whereabouts of one in Ireland, preferably in or near Dublin or Galway? Thanks, Pat.
