Lakeman
Hiya squeezers in the south/west of England . If you are around, and can get there, I have a solo gig this FRiday, Feb 6, at the Wessex Acoustiuc Music Club, held at the British Legion in Blandford Forum, Dorset.I can promise you English/Irish/Scottish folk, some of my own west country songs and a fair sprinkling of 1920/30\'s jazz and country blues like Jimmie Rodgers, the Louvin Brothers. And even ol' Hank Williams. Never heard a duet concertina? Then try and get along.
Wolf Molkentin
I can highly and heartily recommend attending as I had the great pleasure of hearing Geoff doing all this stuff as mentioned above not long ago - and you will even get all at one go (although I didn't mind at all coming several times to several locations...). Hi Geoff, we still hope to make it to your west country again later in the year! Please present greetings from both of us to your wife too - Wolf P.S.: Did you figure out the missing ingredients for a "Gentle Maiden" set? Don Taylor
I love what little I have heard of your stuff, Geoff, I wish that I could attend the gig. Any chance that somebody could record the gig and put it up on Youtube? Any chance that you will make some more recordings soon? Either Youtubers or production recordings. Please. Don. chas
Hoping to come and hear you. It's about an hour and a quarter from here so it depends on my being able to get away in time - but I'll do my best to get down there.

chas
Geoff gave us a grand evening of music last night in Blandford Forum. As promised, we were treated to a wonderful variety of material. The first half stayed mainly in the British Isles, including traditional songs, Geoff's own songs and a lovely Phil Cunningham tune. After the break, that thread continued but the emphasis was more transatlantic - everything from Hoagie Carmichael to Big Bill Broonzie and, as an encore, a Randy Newman song! Just great! There's a relaxed jauntiness to much of Geoff's playing which is a delight to listen to and seemingly effortless, even when he's pulling a face and claiming, "this is a tricky bit." Nothing for YouTube, I'm afraid, Don, but I did get a reasonable audio recording of most of the second half so, if Geoff is OK with it, I'd be happy to pop it into Dropbox, either unedited (with the hilarious intros) or as individual songs, and post the link here. Quality is listenable to but, unfortunately, there was a determined foot-tapper not far from me (I could hardly blame him!) and he is rather noticeable at times. My only regret was that British Legion beer prices were really low but I had to drive 50 miles home! Edited February 7, 2015 by chas
