Mikefule
Midlands Concertina Group meets twice a year in Nottingham. UK. Yesterday's meeting was at a church hall in Wollaton. The next one will be 10th November in Arnold. Yesterday, we had about 18-20 people during the afternoon, with some leaving early and others arriving late. I counted 3 baritone Anglos, a Hayden duet and a Crane duet, a miniature Anglo, and a selection of more conventional Anglos and English. Some members brought 3 or 4 boxes, so I guess there were probably 40 or more instruments in the room. Music played included English folk in the harmonic style, Irish traditional in the single note/melodic style, church music, a Sousa march, and various music hall style songs. We also had a short display of English step clog dancing. There was at least one first timer present, and a couple of people were there for the second time. Others were mainly regulars from the last few years, right back to the early 1980s. I took 3 short videos on my phone and here are the links: https://youtu.be/tAMlCc3kH9I https://youtu.be/2aGWqjw1V8Q https://youtu.be/ISix7jIc2DE
