International Anglo Cd Launch Concert

I've been away so maybe I missed it, so apologies if someone else has already posted this. This is from the ICA mailing ilst (see what you miss if you don't belong?):

INTERNATIONAL ANGLO CONCERTINA CD LAUNCH

SATURDAY OCTOBER 1ST. 8.00 pm - 11.00 pm: doors open 7.30 pm

ROYAL OAK, STATION STREET, LEWES, EAST SUSSEX, UK

 

Admission £4.

 

ALAN DAY has compiled a 3-volume CD set of archive & new recordings showing the range & quality of the Anglo concertina, and the Lewes Arms Folk Club is delighted to offer him a launch evening. Of the featured players, ALAN DAY,  ROGER DIGBY, MANDY MURRAY, JOHN WATCHAM  & ZAK VAN DE VYVER will be performing for us tonight.

 

Other players featured are  John Kirkpatrick, Noel Hill, Niall Vallely, Scan Tester, Fred Kilroy, Chris Sherburn, Andy Turner, Bertram Levy, Andrew Blakeney-Edwards, Frank Edgley,  Nigel Chippendale, Harry Scurfield, Will Duke, Regardt de Bruin, Roger Edwards, Tom Lawrence, Mary MacNamara, Kate McNamara, Zulu Squashbox, Felix Castro and Jody Kruskal.

 

This will be a terrifc evening, and the triple CD would make a wonderful Christmas present for any concertina enthusiast.

I never even considered a launch or the interest that is growing regarding events connected to the collection.There is a possibilty of a much larger launch next year,still in the planning stage.Very exciting and unexpected.

I will know tomorrow or the day after exactly when we are to receive the CDs from the manufacturers and Graham or I will post the details as soon as we know.

Graham has a lot of work to do,he has been heavily involved with providing PA and other equipement for the major folk festivals.We had hoped to wrap up the whole project in May/June to enable Graham time to do this work ,but delays by artists and finally technical problems have made this impossible.Graham after this weekend has much more time to focus on this project again and it should all start happening.I can say however that the finished product has turned out better owing to the delays.

At this moment in time Mark, I know Button Box will be selling these CDs in the USA and Graham will be contacting them in a day or so to arrange it. Other countries I do not know.
