Bald Reynard
A friend has an (old - possibly Victorian or Edwardian) 48 button English Concertina. The only labelling on it is a Registration number and the wording, "Manufactured for H. Withington, 157 Clofton Street, Hulme". He would love to know a bit more about it. Were Withington's manufacturers or simply a Music Shop selling Concertinas on. He thinks it must be the latter, as he can find no reference to a Withington's as a maker. Does anyone know anything this instrument - or can point us in the direction of a possible make. Neither of us are great at posting photos online, but if it would help, we could try and do that. Thanks, in anticipation.
Ken_Coles
Anticipating the replies of the experts, images of (at least) the ends, or even better, the action inside the ends, is commonly enough to say who the maker was. You can post them here or put a link to images elsewhere on the web. Cheers, Ken
