Bruce McCaskey
We exchanged notes recently and Bertram mentioned that he really enjoyed his time at Clifftop this year. There are several good YouTube videos from the 2014 event and prior years if you have an interest. Here's a short clip from this year of Bertram playing concertina with a group - looks like all were having a good time. http://youtu.be/HvD5zvsB6-Q
ceemonster
ya know....i just acquired both of mr. levy's recordings with kirk sutphin a couple weeks ago in one mail purchase, "the bellow and the bow," and "two peas in a pod." they are as charming as hell, love both recordings. i have been playing oldtime on an accordion-reeded tenor EC and it works wonderfully. you can "back-and-forth" it plenty enough to get a feeling of lift and movement. but for now i'm only playing the fiddle lines, not clever enough yet to do the creative and inventive bass/counterpoint/harmony stuff mr. levy swiitches back and forth to in addition to playing the fiddle melody...i highly recommend those two cds, sheesh....
