I'm brand new to the world of the concertina. I just bought one in December of 07'. You see, I wanted to pick up an instrument and I really like the sound and display of the concertina. So I bought a cheap Hohner D40, only because I figured that if this wasnt the instrument for me, it wasnt alotta money wasted.
But now that I like what I'm playing, I want something that will make learning and playin alot easier and go more smoothly. I'm tired of the slow response, the squeaking and the loud clicking of the buttons, and the poor sound. So I'm looking to upgrade to something that still at a beginner's/intermediate level, but is of much better quality.
I was looking at the Morse Céilí, or a Herrington (mainly because he doesnt request a deposit), I was wondering about an Edgley or Tedrow, I was lookin to spend only up to $2000 or so on a new concertina for now, but if it REALLY makes that big of a difference, I'll chip in the extra few hundred dollars.
But I'm lookin for advice to help me decide. Or if you've got a story about the concertina that was good to you while learning. Anything at all to help me decide, I'd greatly appreciate it.
(P.S. I see a Tedrow will cost almost $3000, but how much does a standard Edgley cost you?)
