michael sam wild Posted April 6, 2010 Author Share Posted April 6, 2010 We had a great couple of days , enjoyed The Nutters and found a nice friendly session at The Flowers on Friday evening and an Irish session at The Crown on Saturday afternoon which was very good. then on to The Lakes and back last night. The Nutters were well supportedd by the townsfolk who have great affection for them. The processional tune Tip Top Polka played by the Stacksteads Silver Band is hummed by young and old alike and kids copy the dances .. It wasn't as 'folky' as I remember it from the 70s when it was a focus for a lot of melodeon pub sessions .. More a local event again. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
