The Internet Of Things Only Or Soundcloud 2.0...

Hi there,

we've discussed some strange idiosyncracies of Soundcloud before. Here's a new one: I uploaded a tune about 2 hours ago and got notified of a "like" a few minutes afterwards. As it turned out, no single download had taken place of the track yet. The "user" appears to be a placeholder whose avatar reads "get real listeners today." I advertently hit "play" which raised the count to 1. Then a few minutes afterwars I had another "like" by yet another obvious bot with the track ply count still at one and another "user" with the same avatar.

Honestly, I don't care much about how desperate someone may think I am (no, I will NOT spend money to get attention on the web, thank you), but to me this raises issues on a "metalevel - " ie, how long until it'll only be bots "communicating with each other" on the web, where one bot randomly generates sounds, puts them up unsupervised, and other bots "like" them in order to fish the occassional human appearing there.

Kind of bizarr, don't you think? Is there a way on Soundcloud to kick out this vermin - well, I probably know the solution: Only if you sign up with premium soundcloud, no? That's an interesting business model: Pay in order NOT to get bothered... Probably "privacy is the currency of the future" is the follow up to "data is the currency of the future" once the data mining market has been exhausted?
