Over The Hills To Glory - How Many Bars?

I have been trying to learn Over the Hills to Glory. I have found several versions on the internet in ABC versions where the B music is only 6 bars long rather than the more conventional 8 bars of a folk tune.

In Dan Worrall's Kimber book and in some other places, the B music is a more satisfying 8 bars long. As a Morris man of many years, I am programmed to expect an 8 bar B music.

Does anyone know: are the 6 bar versions the original Playford, or legitimate variants, or just mistakes?
