  1. You might check with Theo Gibb (Google: the Box Place) , Mike Usui (Irish Dance, aster Accordions) or another accordion (melodeon) repair pperson, to see how they handle this. I know they tune the reeds with always taking them out of the wax.
  2. At least they were playing "The Irish Volunteers." Dan
  3. Could it have been Ceoltoiri Laighean? Eamon de Buitlear's group. The record I'm thinking of is An Bothar Cam,(The Crooked Road.) If not it was most likely another Gael Linn recording. The web page http://www.irishmusicreview.com/discgael-linn.htm has a good listing of them. Dan
  4. My son and his buddies often play in the lift when they can. It certainly beats the usual elevator music. Dan
  5. Shouldn't it be "I haven't a clew?" Haul away, Joe. Dan
  6. Bob, I sent you a query about getting a hybrid for my son, Robert . I sent it to hmi@scott.net about a week ago. Did it get to you? Cheers Dan
  7. If you got to http://www.tg4.ie/ you have to click on "WebTV" then follow Dave's instructions Dan
  8. Try http://www.murphyroche.com/ or http://www.irishmusiciansassociation.org/ I know they have people coming. I hope to see you in St. Louis Dan Curtin Riley Branch, Cincinnati, OH area
  9. I took the beginner's class in Cincinnati. I play fiddle and C#/D box, but not the concertina, and almost all Irish. I also listened in, while my son and assorted friends, new and old, took the intermediate. Brian is an outstanding teacher. He covered an amazing amount in a short time in both workshops and handled a wide range of students deftly. My impression is that everyone came away with much to think about and work on. Anyone further down the tour who is on the fence-go for it. Just hearing him play and discuss the style is worth the price of admission. Dan
