allan atlas
FOLKS: if, on saturday, november 8th, you happen to be in the neighborhood -- manhattan's upper east side -- and feel like listening to some music that you're not likely to hear elsewhere. . . .you might like to stop in at the metropolitan museum of art (5th avenue in the 80s) and give a listen to the NEW YORK VICTORIAN CONSORT, in which yours truly is the concertina player (period instruments only). . . . in addition, there's a mezzo-soprano and two fine pianists (who, if they'll roll it out, will play on a luscious-sounding, late-19th-c Bechstein). . . . . .the concert gets under way at 6:30 and will last approximately one hour. . . . . .it's in one of the lounges CAVEAT: seating is VERY limited. . . . .so if you want to reserve a place, i suggest you send an e-mail to Zdravko Blazekovic. . . . .he's the fellow who organized the conference for which the concert is the closing event. . . . . .you can reach him at zblazekovic@gc.cuny.edu Allan Edited September 9, 2003 by allan atlas
