Enjoy something different. I belive it's an English.

From South America (Bolivia I think):

AGRUPACION FOLKLORICA PUKARA

Los de Pukara - Labios Mentirosos

los de pukara - por que me enamore de ti

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ7-WE2SVQU

There are a lot more under "Pukara". I believe it's the bands name. I don't speak the language.

Thanks

Leo :D

Yes, it is an English, if you lok at some of their other videos there is a close up. Really nice.

And, music I can relate too as well. I like the celtic music fine friends, but this is closer to one of the musics I grew up with.

With the recent discussion about African Squashboxes and the lack of information, I thought it might be an interest to see what the rest of the world is doing with a concertina. So here are two more from South America.

Chile:

Julio Crespo y Conjunto

Bolivia:

Concertina Boliviana

Thanks

English Concertina for Beginners Part 16

For those following Martyns nice video tutorial, not a concertina in site. Like Martyn said, (perhaps to put all the lessons together), your first play along with other instruments.

Thanks

Leo :)

Don't know the title. I don't have the correct font to display it, but it's a pleasant enough; a duet with concertina and guitar

I always liked playing of Bob Tedrow.

In the times, where all sound files I could find, where single line Irish reels, Bob had recording of thickly chordal playing, and it got me into thinking.

I also like his Ukulele playing.

What else is he playing?

I wouldn't mind him recording some random tunes on CD, it could be called "tunes from a workbench", and include some muffled sounds from machines, punching holes, drilling, cars passing by, talking, loughing etc.

Huh, Bob, what do you say?

Having spent most of last weekend with him, I have to agree. he has a nice strong chordal style. And he plays flute and guitar well also. We also did some trios with my wife, me on concertina, Robin on guitar and Bob and Robin singing harmony, a lot of fun. A good guy all around.

I'm more impressed with the guitarist. He's doing some pretty neat things. Including, BTW, using his left thumb to finger the F chord (actually Bb, since he's capoed up a 4th). See the finger numbering thread.

Dave

He does play nice. I should have put up this page:

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=0691A082FDE9DDA6

On the right click "play all videos" for a nice mellow listening. I keep forgetting play lists when there are multiple tunes from the same person. It keeps the music up without changing the record so to speak. Especially if they are pleasant to listen to.

Thanks

The left thumb over the top is a pretty common thing amongst fingerstyle guitarists David. Never encouraged as a thing for beginners to do because it's classed as poor technique. I felt guilty for years using this trick until I saw a film of Segovia doing the self same thing in the middle of a classical piece with great aplomb, now I feel I'm in good company! :D

I know that. I do it myself, but only rarely. I have long fingers and prefer to play barre chords with my index finger across all six strings, but there are times when the left thumb comes in handy.

Bootle Concertina Band parade ( Concertinas with raincoats)

There are quite a few under this title from a recent parade. However I could only see two with a concertina in site, or music from the marching band.

Thanks :D
