  1. Hello. Edgley C/G heritage; handmade reeds. Jeffries layout. Serial 431, recently tuned, with a sweet sound and in quite mint condition. Flightcase included 2500 GBP (2900 Euros) excl shipping. Bellows perfect, no damages, see last pic for bottom view. Located Netherlands, so maybe too expensive for UK imports due Brexit?
  2. This concertina is now sold. ******** Selling this beautiful bubinga wooden ended C/G Edgley with accordion reeds. I got it new from Frank at the beginning of 2012. I played it for a while and then sold it to a friend, when I got my Jeffries. It is now for sale, as friend’s interests changed to different kind of music. During the time with the friend it has suffered a drop (kids…) and left-hand end-grill was damaged and re-glued as you can see in the pictures. It is stable though and doesn’t affect the playing. The sound is very sweet, though obviously not as powerful as Jeffries, but it still holds its own in a session. The response is really quick, better than the older instruments that I posses. Wheatstone layout. Selling for EUR1600 + postage, no case. Will be sent from Czech republic, so no taxes/customs in Europe. Will post a recording soon. Pictures here.
  3. Edgley #133, Black body, Metal ends, Wheatstone layout, Bright sound, fast action, very good condition with Fuselli soft case. $1700 + shipping. Photos on request.

  5. Hi I'm looking for a second-hand Edgley G/D Anglo in good condition. I would prefer to purchase from within the UK if possible
  6. For Sale: Edgley C/G concertina - great condition. Asking price $2100 (not including shipping). It has a modified Jeffries layout, 30 button, with C#s on the draw and press top inside right button and also on the press on the next button. It is in great condition and was fully refurbished by the button box about 4 years ago. It has not been played very much in the last couple of years because I have another instrument. It is a hybrid model, meaning that it is a high-quality concertinas made using Italian accordion-style reeds. The sound is really lovely and it plays very easily - no bellows leaks at all. It is number 286 as you can see in the pictures. It comes with a hard case, which was originally for another concertina. FYI, I am located in the western U.S. Thanks, Claire
  7. Hello all, I went to the dark side and bought a button accordion. But before I get excommunicated from the group, I'd like to offer my 30 button hybrid Edgley Anglo concertina up for sale here before posting it on eBay. Hand made by Frank Edgley, I took delivery of #502 in April 2014 for over $2,600 U.S., including case. It's his Professional model with angled reed pans, 7 bellows, Indian Rosewood with metal ends. Plays fast and sounds great. It's been well kept in a sealed Pelican "Storm Case" (included) and has no leaks or signs of wear except for the paint is somewhat worn off of the hand rests. Asking $2,000 U.S., shipping to U.S. included. Located in Tom's River, NJ, USA. Pics attached, contact me with any questions. Thanks, Neil Calore
  8. Hi everyone, I am very sad to report that my Edgley C/G concertina has been stolen. I have filed a police report and called all the local Tucson shops. I am checking ebay regularly, but is there anything else I can do? This was my spare concertina, since I got my Carrol, so I did not play it all that frequently, but I still loved it and am really really sad about it. If you see this instrument, please let me know? It was a Wheatstone layout, modified to have C#'s as followed (rt outside row) Push/Pull: C#/C# C#/D# G#/G high-C#/high-D# high-A/high-F Thank you for any ideas on how to look for it! 9. I have a G/D Edgely Professional 30 button Anglo concertina in excellent condition, Pau Ferro wood, wooden ends, recently overhauled by the maker, for sale or trade. $2000 plus shipping, or might consider a trade for a comparable C/G Anglo or a Morse Albion English concertina in like condition. Pics to follow. Thanks
  10. EDGLEY 'HERITAGE' CONCERTINA FOR SALE. A 'Heritage' concertina for sale (located in Ireland). As Frank Edgley writes on his website of these instruments: "These are our top-of-the-line concertinas. These concertinas are made in the traditional way, with separate hardwood reedpans. The reeds are top quality traditional concertina reeds with steel tongues and brass reed shoes and are very similar to the reeds used by Wheatstone in the late 1800s and early 1900s ---the Golden Age of Concertinas. This concertina has ebony ends with stainless steel end plates. As you'll see in the photos, I customised mine, fitting what I think are nice bellows papers to decorate it, and thicker, gilt-decorated leather handles, which in my opinion provides an easier grip. The instrument is a standard Wheatstone, except that I ordered it with two C# buttons: a push C# on the first button on the RHS top row, and a pull C# beside it; I like it that way, but they could easily be reversed if it's a Jeffreys layout you're after. The concertina is in more or less perfect condition, and it plays sweetly and quickly. I'm selling it reluctantly, because I do love it, but I have a genuine reason for selling it on - definitely NOT because I don't like it! 11. So, I have been talking a lot here and taking up much of your time with questions, which you very kindly answer! I thought it might interest some to know where I am at with things. After much deliberation and a little pain on the bank account, I now own a Lachenal rosewood ended G/D & an Edgley metal ended G/D - both of which I very much love, for different reasons. The Edgley was loud and brash at the start, but after 50+ hours of playing is now settling into itself and has a lovely tone, and incredible response. The Lachenal was a recent acquisition, and arrived in a not great state. I have spent many evenings this week putting things right with this lovely box. I have replaced pads and valves (hat tip to Mark at concertina spares, and Alex Holden for the help and supplies) and have cleaned up the reeds of corrosion and muck as well as resetting a couple of them (were too high and wheezy as a result) I have also treated all the woodwork with Danish oil, giving it a natural sheen and you can tell the wood was happy to have some nourishment! I used a spirit based cleaner to remove the years of accumulated dirt from the lever arms and similar and have cleaned and polished the buttons. So, here are a few sound samples of the two being played: https://soundcloud.com/clevercode/lachenal-rosewood-ended-gd-edgley-metal-ended-gd-comparison. On each tune you hear the Lachenal first, followed by the Edgley for comparison. Please forgive my playing! Each have a very different sound, and I'm glad to have both in my collection. Tunes are: Shepherds Hey The Beaver Bear Dance Below are a couple of images aforementioned concertinas Sorry - I took them under bad lighting, hence the yellow tone to both images! If you really want to see what I've been up to - check out my Instagram feed https://www.instagram.com/clevercode/ Thanks again for all the advice over these months - trust me when I say - the questions aren't over!
  12. For sale: Edgley C/G anglo concertina, 30-button, built in June 2006. Standard Wheatstone fingering. I'm the original owner; I bought directly from Frank Edgley. Serial #136. Wood ends, cherry, with dark mahogany stain, ornamented with Frank's 'Celtic Lion' scrollwork design. The buttons are black delrin, very comfortable and easy on the fingers. Comes with its original Sean Fallon case. I've had no mechanical problems at all. Buttons, springs, lever arms, pads, have never given me any trouble, and are all in excellent condition. All buttons and all reeds work well, and quickly. The bellows are well broken in, and as perfect as the day they were made. There are no scratches or dings of any kind on the concertina, nor on the leather of the bellows. I've finally realized that I can't get to be a good player of both English and Anglo concertina, and I've been spending most of my playing time with my Lachenal English for the last couple of years. I've decided to find a new home for my Edgley anglo, sorry as I am to see it go. With the case, I paid about $2400. I'm asking $2000.00. Please email me at macrane1@verizon.net and I'll be happy to send you more photos. Or answer any questions you may have.
